ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION

 Rhymes can prove to be an important stepping stones for young children to learn English.  Teachers and children can recite them at any time and at any place to elate their mood.  Keeping this in mind English Rhyme Recitation competition was organized for class Pre School on 22nd July 2019 and for class Pre Primary on 23rd July 2019.

 The preliminary round was conducted in the class room from where 6 students from each class were selected for the Final Round.  Students who participated came prepared with different rhymes of their choice with different themes.  It was a delight to hear these little ones singing in rhyme and rhythm. The eye catching props added icing to the cake.   The parameters for judging the children were introduction, costumes/props, action and choice of rhymes (content).

    Workshop on Cyber Safety Awareness Program By Cyber Crime Unit, CyPAD, Special Cell

    Now a days Cyber Crime has become the greatest threat for youth. Each one of us has to shoulder the responsibility to save our youth from the clutches of this threat. In this direction Cyber Crime Unit, CyPAD, Special Cell has organized a Workshop on Cyber Safety Awareness Program.

    On 26 July 2019, Ms. Shruti Barman of Greenway Modern School attended workshop organized by Mr. Ayesh Roy (Deputy Commissioner of Police Cyber Crime Unit, Special Cell.) Where he briefed teachers about do’s and don’ts while using internet. They also shared the mantra of using Internet “Pause  à Think à Conduct”. All Illegal Activities were explained. Information about “How to protect ourselves and our information” was shared. Various cyber cell portal and helpline numbers were introduced. The workshop was useful and informative to protect our youth from Cyber Crime.

      ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CBSE WORKSHOP
      23 July to 25 July 2019   ...

       A  three day training workshop on Artificial Intelligence was organized by CBSE in association with Intel from 23rd July 2019 to 25Th July , 2019 , at Shikha Sadan Rose Avenue Delhi.

      The whole program was divided into multiple sessions and every day few sessions were carried out along with the respective activity.

       Day 1:

      Unit one was taken up. The objective of the unit was to develop a readiness for understanding and appreciating Artificial Intelligence and its applications in our daily lives.

       Different modules undertaken  were:

       The session concluded with the address of Mr. R.P. Singh , Joint Secretary CBSE.

      Various queries related to vocational subjects were addressed by him. It was an innovative session where the teachers were able to understand the importance of Artificial Intelligence in this modern tech world. It was attended by Ms. Poonam Makhija, PGT Computer Science.

        BLUE COLOUR WEEK – 15TH TO 19TH JULY, 2019
        Event was given on 20.07.2019   ...

        Blue – the colour of loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust had a very positive impact on tiny tots. This  colour was introduced to the students of Pre School throughout the week 15th to 19th July 2019.

         They came dressed in blue colour, wore blue caps, visited blue corner where an array of blue coloured objects like ball, cloud, umbrella, etc. were at display thus providing the students  an opportunity to have a clear sense of the colour.  The children got engaged in craft activity where they made elephant’s face with balloons and paper.

         The main purpose  was also to introduce the theme of water and a “Rain Dance Party” was organized for the students of Pre School and Pre Primary on 12th July’19.  Source for artificial rain was created inside the school.   Children danced and enjoyed their day thoroughly. 

         It was indeed a visual treat to see the good effects of blue colour on our little ones.

          BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION
          Held in month of July 2019   ...

          Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden organized an activity which was conducted by Eco Club of the school in which the students were made to learn about the ill effects of plastic use.

          In the activity, students of classes 3 and 4 were taught to eat in banana leaf instead of using any plastic utensils. Students of classes 5 and 6 were shown a presentation with regard to the effects of use of plastics. Grade 7 and 8 students were given an opportunity to make slogans and posters. Class 9 students were made aware and given knowledge about the use of plastic.

          The activity enabled the students to learn more about use, advantages, disadvantages, etc of plastic. They also got to understand to say no to plastic as it is very harmful and causes cancer and other dangerous diseases. It was an educative and informative initiative taken by the school to generate the awareness among its students.

            LEMONADE PARTY DAY - 12.07.2019 NURSERY WING
            Event was held on 12.7.2019   ...

            In order to teach the children how to keep their body cool during the summer season “Lemonade/Tang Party” was organized on 12th July 2019.  It was a life skill activity in which children participated with great enthusiasm.  Children were demonstrated how to make glass of Lemonade / Tang.   Students were served refreshing drink and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

              WE ALL SCREAM ICE CREAM!!!!!!! ICE CREAM PARTY!!!

               The nursery wing of Greenway Nursery School reopened on 3rd July 2019.  It was then time to welcome our kids with a bright, rejuvenating and beautiful celebration hence Ice-Cream Party” was organized on 10th July 2019.

               The kids were served with cups of ice-cream and a packet of candies,  each followed by dance and music to uplift their moods.  It was such a delightful sight to see the kids enjoyed Ice Cream in this hot scorching summer.

               Children also enjoyed making Ice-Cream models in their craft period.

                RED COLOUR WEEK - NURSERY WING
                Event was held from 8 - 12 July 2019   ...

                The tiny tots of Pre School celebrated Red Colour week from 8th to 12th July 2019.  The colour Red signifies strength, power,  determination and love.

                 The week started  with children wearing red colour dresses.  They brought apple in their tiffin boxes the next day.  The corridor was all filled with red balloons which the students had brought with them.  They were made to visit the Red corner,  where they saw a number of Red Colour objects like strawberry, watermelon, lady bird, apple, cherry etc.  To learn the colour red in depth, they took part in paper tearing and pasting activity.  All the kids were excited to tear and paste papers on the picture of lady bird given to them.  This activity directly improved the fine motor skills of the kids.  The children enjoyed throughout the week and are now able to recognize the red colour.

                  MANGO PARTY DAY - 09-07-2019 NURSERY WING
                  Event was held on 09.07.2019   ...

                  9th July 2019 was a perfect day to celebrate the season of the king of fruits “MANGO” with a  fun-filled learning opportunity in the form of a Mango party.

                   The “Mango Party”started by introducing different types of mangoes to the students in the morning assembly.  Children were told about the different verities of mangoes such as Dussehri, Langl=da, Safeda, Chausa, etc. The children were able to associate with the shape, form and size of a mongo better than before and enjoyed drawing and colouring mango in their art books.

                   During the lunch time, children shared and relished various varieties of mangoes they had brought as special tiffins.

                    Commerce Teachers’ Foundation organized a grand felicitation ceremony ‘Abhinandan’ on 30th June 2019,Sunday at India International Centre, Lodi Estate to honour the toppers of the commerce Olympiad 2018 and CBSE Commerce Toppers. The Chief guest of the programme was Mr. R.K. Singh, Dean of Commerce Department of Delhi University and the Guests of Honour were Mrs. Rajini Rawal, Deputy Director of Education and Mrs. Shruti  Bodh  Agarwal, Author of NCERT Business Studies Textbook.

                    The achievers were awarded cash prizes, certificates and trophies. Kushagra Aggarwal of Greenway Modern School got Ist International Rank in Commerce Olympiad 2018. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 momentum and certificate of merit for his hard work and determination as a scholar. His teacher Mrs. Neelam Gupta, PGT Accountancy was also honoured with trophy and certificate for guiding her students to be achievers.

                    The programme was an altogether grand success. It was a mark of motivation for the students and teachers to put on their best efforts. The guests and organizers felt proud of the daydreamers and appreciated them for their hard work and talent.  The Principal of the School Mr. Mohit Sachdeva appreciated the efforts of the student and teacher.

                      NCC ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP-2019
                      Event was held from 21st - 30th June, 2019   ...

                      Students of Greenway Modern School got the chance to attend NCC Annual Training Camp held at NCC Bhawan, Rohini from June 21 to June 30, 2019.

                      The cadets were involved in various activities like drill practices, weapon training and yoga sessions. They got the opportunity to go to Delhi Cantt. for firing. Lectures on Cyber Crime, women safety, anti tobacco campaign and hygiene enlightened the cadets. Several games like volley ball, kho, tug of war and basket ball raised their sportsmen spirit. Dance and song competitions were also organized as a part of cultural program in which Ayushi Mahawar won a gold medal in solo dance competition. Greenwanians also won silver medal in group song competition.

                      At the closing ceremony, Ayushi Mahawar mesmerized everyone with her dance performance. Ms Sarita stayed with the cadets in the camp and ensured health and wellness of the cadets.

                      It was a great learning experience for the cadets. They learnt the key skills of life i.e. Time management and adaptability. Their gaiety was on cloud nine when they received their  certificates.  The Principal of the School Mr. Mohit Sachdeva congratulated the students and the teachers for their performances
