The Yamuna Biodiversity Park offers a variety of ecosystem services and has great conservational, recreational and educational value. The park is spread over an area of 457 acres near Wazirabad village on the flat alluvial planes of Yamuna. This is the first local government initiative in the world to develop a fully functional nature reserve on a once barren urban landscape. It is a repository of our 2000 species of plants and animals, some of which students were able to witness first hand. The students keenly observed the surroundings and participated enthusiastically in discussions with the faculty members and support staff.

In all, the trip was really fruitful and enhanced the understanding of the students regarding biotic and abiotic interactions in the ecosystem.
