Celebrating Diwali in a Pre School or Pre-Primary classes is a wonderful opportunity to introduce young children to the richness of cultural traditions, art, and community values. The festival began with teachers explaining students that Diwali is the “Festival of Lights,” celebrated in India and by millions around the world. They told the students the importance of this festival through a small skit The students were asked not to burst crackers. Simple decorations, like colourful rangolis, paper lanterns, and fairy lights, created a festive atmosphere. Dance and music are essential parts of Diwali celebrations. Children danced on traditional Diwali songs. They chanted Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi mantras. Children wore traditional attire like kurtas, sarees, and lehengas. It was a fun way for children to explore and appreciate traditional clothing and teachers could explain the cultural significance of each outfit.
