JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS – 24.08.2024
Greenway Modern School organized a special assembly to celebrate Janmashtami on 24th August 2024, bringing together students from all wings to participate in the program. The event featured a vibrant dance performance depicting 'Krishna Leela,' which beautifully showcased various joyous moments from Krishna's life. The audience was captivated by the graceful movements and expressions of the dancers. Additionally, the choir group performed melodious Krishna bhajans that filled the school with a holy atmosphere. The assembly also included a brief talk on the significance of Janmashtami, highlighting its cultural and spiritual importance. The Principal, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, commended the students and teachers for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering a sense of tradition and unity within the school community. Rakhi Celebrations at Greenway Modern School: A Joyful Display of Sharing and Caring*

On August 16th, 2024, Greenway Modern School celebrated the festive occasion of Rakhi with great enthusiasm and dedication. The school organized a unique and heartwarming event, where students from classes 9th to 12th came together to tie Rakhis for students from the NGO PANAM. Along with the Rakhis, the students were also gifted packets of eatables, showcasing the true spirit of sharing and caring.

The celebration was a culmination of various activities, including:

- Rakhi-making workshops
- Presentations on the history and significance of Rakhi celebrations
- Poster and slogan creation
- Essay writing competitions
- A cooking competition without fire, highlighting the students' culinary skills

The students' enthusiasm and dedication were evident throughout the event, making it a memorable experience for all involved. The Principal of the school praised the efforts of both teachers and students for celebrating Rakhi in such a unique and meaningful way.

This celebration not only strengthened the bond between the students but also taught them valuable lessons in empathy, kindness, and generosity. Greenway Modern School's Rakhi celebrations served as a shining example of the true spirit of this festive occasion.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS – 15.08.2024
On 14th August 2024, the 78th Independence Day Celebrations were held at Greenway Modern School. The students welcomed the Principal of the school, Staff & gathering. The programme began with

-The Principal hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem marking the beginning of the celebration. This symbolic act represented the school's commitment to national pride and unity. The school's principal addressed the gathering mentioning the sacrifices of our great leaders and advised that everything can be attained with sincerity, dedication & hard work. Students of the Primary, Middle & Senior wing sang patriotic songs, filling the atmosphere with enthusiasm and love for the country. The songs expressed devotion and loyalty to one's nation. Apart from singing the Patriotic Song, the students presented a skit & dance which symbolized the respect and honour of our great leaders who sacrificed their lives for our country's Independence. The Programme Ended with appreciation by the Principal Sir to the students, and teachers who presented such a beautiful programme on the Eve of the 78th Independence Day. There were many class activities which were performed by the students like

- *Flag-making Competition*: Students showcased their creativity by designing and making flags. This activity encouraged teamwork, artistic skills, and a deeper understanding of the flag's significance.

- *Essay Writing*: Students expressed their thoughts and feelings about the nation, its history, and its values through essays. This activity helps develop writing skills, critical thinking, and patriotism.

- *Debate*: Students were engaged in debates, discussing nationalism, patriotism, and the country's development. Debates fostered critical thinking, public speaking skills, and informed opinions.

- *Selfie Campaign*: As per the circular of CBSE & DOE Students posted selfies with the National Flag on the Har Ghar Tiranga website, receiving certificates in return. These activities encouraged students to share their patriotic spirit and become part of a nationwide movement, inspiring, students to develop a deeper connection with their nation and its values. Roaring with Awareness: Celebrating International Tiger Day_

On July 29th, our students embarked on an exciting journey to mark International Tiger Day, a global observance dedicated to raising awareness about the majestic tiger and its plight.
With enthusiasm and creativity, students brought tigers to life through:

- Colorful artwork and crafts, showcasing their artistic skills
- Informative projects and posters, highlighting fascinating facts about tigers
- Catchy slogans, spreading awareness and inspiring action

A thrilling quiz session tested their knowledge and sparked curiosity about these magnificent creatures. Our students wholeheartedly participated in the awareness day, demonstrating their passion for wildlife conservation and commitment to protecting our planet's precious species.
By celebrating International Tiger Day, we aimed to inspire a love for nature and ignite a desire to preserve the tiger's place in our world.

*KARGIL DIWAS: A TRIBUTE TO COURAGE AND SACRIFICE*
On 26th July our students and teachers came together to observe Kargil Diwas, a day of remembrance and tribute to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives defending our nation during the Kargil War in 1999.

Students paid homage to the fallen heroes through a solemn ceremony, acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice they made for our country's sovereignty and integrity. Teachers conducted an informative session, enlightening students about the significance of Kargil Diwas, the events leading up to the war, and the heroic tales of courage and valor displayed by our soldiers. The session aimed to instill a sense of patriotism and respect for the armed forces among our young minds

Through this observance, we honored the memory of our brave soldiers who fought fearlessly to protect our nation. May their sacrifice continue to inspire us to strive for excellence and work towards a stronger, more united India.

*VECTOR BORNE DISEASES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN*

Our science teachers recently led an informative session on vector-borne diseases, educating students about the different categories of these diseases and their severe consequences. Students created eye-catching posters and thought-provoking slogans to spread awareness and reinforce their learning. They explained various categories, and consequences of Vector-Borne Diseases in a very detailed way

This awareness campaign aims to educate and empower students, teachers, and the community to take preventive measures against vector-borne diseases. By working together, we can reduce the risk of these diseases and create a healthier environment for all.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY – 21.06.2024

'Why Yoga IS Important ' - Going through the word gives me a sense of joy, enthusiasm, and calmness. Yoga has been derived from the Sanskrit word "YUJ" which means unification of the individual soul with the Supreme soul. Yoga not only allows us to get United to the Supreme but also provides us with the platform to enhance our posture, leading us to a healthy and long life. It connects us with our culture. But in real are we performing Yoga? The answer can be both yes or no. But if it is not then why are we not? We should ask ourselves the question of why? We can still start it as we are getting an opportunity in the form of a day which is International Yoga Day on 21st June. In this fast-running life people are getting into depression, they are getting anxiety attacks. Can we do something about it without taking any medications, the answer is yes. It is Yoga which acts as a regulator for our body it regulates our body functions, muscles and bones, and mind; basically, it helps us in wholesome development. So let's pledge on this Yoga day to give something positive to our body that is, the habit of performing Yoga.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on 21st June every year our school organized a series of events and activities to promote the practice and importance of yoga among students. Activities by Classes:

Classes 1 & 2: Students practiced Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Sukhasana (Easy Pose).

Classes 3 & 4: Engaged in Padmasana (Lotus Pose) and Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose).

Classes 5 & 6: Participated in Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Parvatasana (Mountain Pose).

Classes 7 & 8: Demonstrated Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) and Vakrasana (Half Spinal Twist).

Classes 9 & 10: Practiced Sukhasana (Easy Pose) and Naukasana (Boat Pose).

Classes 11 & 12: Wrote essays on the importance of yoga and performed advanced asanas such as Halasana (Plow Pose) and Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose).

Students enthusiastically practiced these yoga asanas both at home and school under the guidance of our dedicated physical education teachers. Several students also demonstrated their skills by performing these asanas during the celebrations

The Principal of our school commended the efforts put forth by both students and teachers in organizing and participating in the Yoga Day celebrations. He emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being and encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily lives. FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION – 16-06-2024
Father's Day celebration at our school was a heartwarming event filled with joy, laughter, and abundant love. Students from various classes showcased their creativity and appreciation for their fathers through personalized gifts.

Students from classes 1, 2, and 3 crafted beautiful photo cards, each uniquely designed to express their love and gratitude. Classes 4 and 5 demonstrated their artistic skills by making colorful keychains using beads, which were both practical and sentimental. The older students took their projects to the next level. Classes 6, 7, and 8 created decorative photo frames, perfect for capturing cherished memories. Meanwhile, students in classes 9 and 10 put together memory jars filled with heartfelt notes of appreciation and fond memories, offering a touching tribute to their fathers. The senior students from classes 11 and 12 compiled photo collages, highlighting memorable moments spent with their fathers, creating a visual journey of love and togetherness.

ROAD SAFETY CAMP - ANOTHER ACHIEVEMENT 10.06.2024
The Delhi Traffic Police organized a Road Safety Awareness Camp at Bal Bhawan starting June 10th, 2024. Many of our school students participated in this event.
We are delighted to announce that Veerang Singh Dagar (12th C) secured First Position in the Traffic Police Painting & Drill Competition. Ekansh Jindal (6th B) achieved third place in the drill competition. The students gained valuable knowledge on various safety rules, disaster management, firefighting practices, self-defense, and more. They were awarded by the ACP (Traffic) for their achievements.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY – 05.06.2024
CELEBRATE NATURE, CELEBRATE LIFE!

In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5th, our school organized activities under the theme "Restoring the Biosphere" to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. Class 1 enjoyed story time with environmental themes, while Class 2 and 3 took guided nature walks with parents, learning about local flora and fauna. Class 4 created art using old leaves and flowers, documenting species details. Class 5 made eco-friendly art projects from recycled materials. Class 6 planted and cared for saplings, documenting their growth. Class 7 educated house helpers or guards on environmental conservation. Class 8 maintained personal nature journals, and Class 9 made natural cleaning products. Class 10 created documentaries on sustainable living, Class 11 wrote motivational speeches, and Class 12 penned articles on the role of education in environmental awareness.
