Greenway Modern School students celebrated Road Safety Week from15/05/2023 to 21/05/2023 wherein the students actively participated, by making Road Signs, Wrote Essays highlighting the importance of four risk factors-Speeding, wearing helmets, not drinking and driving, and wearing seat belts even for passengers sitting in the rear seat, Wrote Slogans on the importance of walking, cycling, and use of public transport, Posters were made by students focusing on bus lane initiative.

A workshop was also organized by Delhi Traffic Police, wherein the students of class XII were made aware of the use of helmets, Safety, Zebra crossing, etc. Students enthusiastically participated in the workshop. The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated the teachers for taking such initiatives.

Greenway Nursery School, Dilshad Garden organized an activity on table manners for the students of class pre-primary on 10 May 2023.  To make it fun a small skit was performed by the teachers where the kids were taught the correct way of setting the table and placement of crockery and cutlery on the table. They were taught the basic etiquettes of coming to the table with clean hands. They learnt how to sit straight; ensuring elbows are on the table. The students were told the importance of chewing with their mouth closed and not to talk with their mouthful. They were explained not to waste food and also not be fussy about the food that was made. The kids were also taught to make placements for the dining. The kids had fun designing the mats.

Greenway Modern School organised a workshop for teachers on 15^th May 2023 for better understanding of New Education Policy 2020 and how it can be implemented in schools effectively. The workshop was presided over by CBSE resource person Dr. Sandeep Dutta and Dr. Mudita Yadav who ensured an engaging and productive workshop.

The event began with lighting the lamp. Senior coordinator Ms. Anuja gave a warm welcome to the honourable guests by presenting them plant and bouquet. Various teachers from different neighbouring schools partook in the workshop.

Dr. Sandeep threw light on previous NEPs, their pros and cons and the need to bring New Education Policy. He also highlighted the key points which make NEP 2020 different and better than the former one. He also explained the vision of Education department in the forthcoming years and how is it going to transcend educational field in a positive way.

The teachers ably comprehended the core of NEP by engaging themselves in many activities and going through Handouts. There was an open session for doubt clearance afterwards which not only cleared teachers’ apprehensions but also infused in them new zeal to implement NEP.

The workshop was blissfully ended with vote of thanks given by Activity In-charge, Ms. Jaishree. The Principal of the school appreciated the initiative taken by the school and promised an year power packed with various similar induction programmes.

The day that celebrates the love, teachings, compassion and essence of a mother is Mother’s Day. The mother-child  relationship is a sacred bond. This day is a day of delight for all the children and there could not be a more universal celebration  than to celebrate Mother’s Day. Keeping the same zeal and ebullience, Greenwanians celebrated Mother’s Day. The students of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, showered their love and bestowed fealty to their  mothers by making treasure box in which they fill the goods of their mother choice and on the top of it they pasted the photograph of their mother. Classes VI to VIII opened their heart to say – MY MOTHER MY HERO. Classes IX to XII made an honest confession and promise to be  a better person. The wrote it and put it  in the envelope. Also  posters, adorable cards, messages filled with innocence and concern, self composed poems. The students also made beautiful handmade gifts for their mothers and showed their gratitude in their unique way.  The Principal of the school, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, felt delighted to see the enthusiasm of the students and also praised their efforts  put in and inspired the students to inculcate virtuous deeds and  resort to ethical ways that makes the parents happy.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Imbusing a passion to lead preparing gesture pioneers

A nation’s future is written by its young children and they have their pen poised. Bestowing responsibilities and duties on the young shoulders is the best way to propagate invincible determination grit and courage to help steer of success with this noble objective a grand Investiture ceremony was organized in Greenway Modern School on 12.05.2023. Where in the school Principal Mr. Mohit Sachdeva and school Academic Coordinator Mrs. Anuja Jaitley conferred the badges to the members of the student guild. In addition to the the badge, these young leaders were also given the sashe and respective house flags which they held with pride and honour. Marching towards the stage, first came the House Captains, Head boys and Head Girls and then Secretaries. Akshat Sharma and Varsha P.Nair were selected the Head Boy and Head Girl with 16 other students who succeed their allegiance to work for the school.

All the members expressed their commitment to work by taking the oath. The Principal stated in his speech that these responsible appointments should take up the challenges and help to take the school at great heights.

Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, Delhi - 95, organized ATL COMMUNITY DAY on May 12th, 2023. It was a step towards innovation to extend the frontiers of learning and knowledge among children from various schools as well as an NGO.  The event was graced by the presence of the honorable Principal of the school, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, as well as eminent guests, which included Dr Usha Rao, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs Intellectual Property Office, a special guest Mr. Anmol Rishi, Co-founder of Edsplore, and two NGOs - Nanhe Pakshi and Pathshala.

The Greenway ATL lab has completed its five -year journey through which it has won a multitude of tinker fests and competitions. Moreover, an exhibition was organized, which included innovative models by our ATL innovators like Swaraksha, Tech farming, Pukar, medbed, etc.  A workshop was also organized by the ATL mentors for children from other schools and the NGO. The children actively participated.

All in all, the aim of Greenway to spread the mantra - "IMAGINE, INNOVATE, IMPLEMENT" - was a resounding success.

The Principal of the School, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, appreciated the efforts of the teachers, ATL-Incharge Ms. Manju Kasana, Activity Coordinator Ms. Jayshree Sreedharan, and other teachers for organizing such an innovative exhibition and workshop.

On May 2nd, 2023, an interactive session was organized for class 11 with the Principal of the school. The session was aimed at providing the students with insights on how to navigate through the ups and downs of life and make the most of their academic years.

The principal started the session by stressing the importance of knowing oneself and one's strengths, weaknesses, and limitations that can help in making informed decisions and avoiding mistakes. Students were educated about how Procrastination and lack of discipline can be avoided and strategies to overcome them, about toxic people that can be a hindrance to one's growth and development and how to stay away from such people. Students were made aware of the importance of choosing friends wisely and surrounding oneself with positive and supportive people.

The final highlight of the principal's speech was the importance of being a progressive leader and to be  open to new ideas and willing to take risks can achieve success in life and also encouraged the students to think creatively, challenge conventional wisdom, and pursue their dreams with determination and resilience.

Overall, the interactive session was insightful and motivational, providing the students with practical advice on how to navigate through the challenges of life and achieve their goals.

World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated all over the country on 2nd April. It is celebrated to highlight the need to help/improve the quality of life of those so that they can lead a meaningful life as an integral part of society. Greenwanians took active part by making posters, slogans & a nukkad natak was also presented to make the students aware that they are also normal children and they require a little guidance & extra care. They also took a pledge to protect & support them.

The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students & special educator of the school for taking an initiative for creating an awareness among other students.

The INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY is observed globally on 29th April every year. The day celebrates the value and importance of the dance and encourages participation in thus art form. This day is also celebrated to promote the multiple benefits of dancing, to recognize dance as stress reliever expressing oneself a way of celebrating happiness and an activity that brings people together.

The Primary, Middle & Senior wing of Greenway Modern School celebrated International Dance day with great zeal and enthusiasm.  The students of class 1&2 were divided in group wore masks of different animals. The sounds of the animals were played and they dance according to the sounds. Classes 3 to 6 did aerobics and zumba. Classes 7 & 8 worked on groups on various dance forms and did the presentation. Classes 9 & 10 had interclass competition, in which the studentsparticipated with great zeal andenthusiasm. Classes 11 & 12 prepared a flash card in groups depicted different dance form and gave the presentation. The whole school participation on the International Dance Day showed, dance day  is a true global representation that brings down barriers to bring people together.
