WORKSHOP ON FIRE SAFETY - 30.10.2018


A workshop was organized by the personal of Fire Department, Tahipur, Delhi in Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden on 30thoct 2018, to make the students aware about the safety measures to be taken in case of fire.

The students were demonstrated how to use the fire extinguishers in case of fire. As Diwali is approaching the personals explained that there are more chances of fire and they requested students to be more vigilant and gave the emergency number of fire department so that the proper action can be taken and there are no calamities. WORKSHOP ON PATENTING AND COPYRIGHT- RAMJAS SCHOOL DELHI



Mrs Yogyata Mathur ATL In charge along with two students attended workshop on patenting and copyright at Ramjas School, R.K.Puram where in basic guidelines were given to help young innovators to get their innovation patent..

Dr. K.S was the key note speaker. He is the head of IPR office , Delhi, with history of working for around 35 years in the legal services industry specially in IPR> skilled in Patent Litigation, International IP Law, Patent Prosecution, Competition Law, and Legal Research. Strong Professional with a Master of Laws(L.L.M), Ph.D  focused in Intellectual Property Law from Delhi University. The other speaker  was Dr. R.C. Aggarwal who is registrar general in “Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Authority” of Central Government which provides patents to Plant and Tress. Dr. Agrawal has traveled to more than 20 countries to lead India to negotiate on issues related to Agro-biodiversity . He was consultant for Food and Agriculture Organization for United Nations for 7 countries. He is also presently the Chairman of a Committee on Farmers Rights for a treaty which has 144 countries. he has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Agro-Biodiversity.

It’ was an excellent initiative to promote budding scientist to get right direction in the field of innovation. The Students and the Teachers were benefitted by this workshop.

STUDENTS VISIT TO VIGYAN BHAWAN AND SOLAR AMBASSADOR WORKSHOP - 01.10.2018.


"The wind of technology and science are ready to let India sail to the seas of progress"

As part of its diamond jubilee celebrations, IIT Bombay organized student solar ambassador workshop on 1st October, 2018, under the Solar Urja through localization for Sustainability (SOULS) initiative. 16 students of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, got an opportunity to be a part of this initiative. They were accompanied by two teachers Mrs. Poonam Makheeja PGT (Computer Science) and Mrs. Heena Devgan. TGT (Computer Science). It was a unique one- day training program at D.A.V Vasant Kunj, students learned to assemble their own solar study lamps and gained skills on soldering, uses of renewable and non-renewable energy, working of solar panels, PCB and so on. 

Through this workshop, scientific curiosity of students was piqued towards clean technologies for the future, by making them "Student Solar Ambassador"

On 2nd of October, Tuesday, students went to Vigyan Bhawan, where our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi , inaugurated the first assembly of the International solar alliance.(ISA).The same event  marked the inauguration of the second IORA Renewable Energy Ministerial meetings and the 2nd global re-invest. The Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres, Mrs Sushma Swaraj, and other dignitaries were present on this occasion. 

The Prime Minister addressed the assembly and also emphasized that if the dream of "One world, One Sun, and One Grid" is followed, uninterrupted power supply can follow. 100 students from various schools including students from our school lit their self- made solar lamps at the inaugural function, as a mark of their support towards clean energy resources. The event was telecast live.

It was a really a proud moment for the school to share the event with great dignitaries. We took an oath to utilize the power of solar energy so as to keep our environment safe and to be inherited by future generations to come. Click here to view photographs.

‘MOSKING’ PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE- 07.09.2018
A workshop event named ‘Mosking’ was organized in the school for Primary classes on 7th September, 2018 to make children aware of the speedy breeding of the mosquitoes in the environment and how to protect themselves with the help of ‘Mosquito Repellent Band’ by placing it on the wrist & ankle which was water resistant and it was effective for both indoors and outdoors.

This will prevent the children to protect themselves from the grave diseases like Dengue, Chikengunia, and Malaria. Click here to view photographs.    

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMM BY CBSE
– 6th & 7th September 2018

        Central Board of Secondary Education had organized a Hindi language teaching workshop in Arwachin Bharti Bhawan Sr. Sec. School, from 6th & 7th Sep’18 in which they described about the appropriate methodology of teaching the language.

        In the workshop, the curriculum was elaborately discussed. There was also a discussion about the needs of students, coming to their way in respect of the curriculum.

        The workshop was systematically organized by the headmistress of the school, Mrs. Urmila Sharma and was glorified by the chief guest, Mrs. Kumud Sharma, respectively.

        In the workshop, teachers were given some tips on how they can make even a hard topic easy for the students. Especially, in Grammar, the teachers can divide the whole into various sections so as to make it interesting. Some examples on the same were also given by the experts.

        At present, Hindi language teaching has become a hard task as the other subjects in the curriculum are studied and learnt by students in English only and this fact has made Hindi subject difficult to study for the students, therefore, how we can overcome this problem and make the language interesting for the students was taught to the teachers in the workshop. It was really a well worth learning experience!  The program was attended by our TGT Hindi Teacher, Mrs. Poonam Sharma.

POGO ACTIVITY FOR PRIMARY WING -21st AUGUST 2018

       
 

 

 

 

 

 

An activity based workshop was conducted by ‘POGO’- a cartoon channel on 21 Aug. 2018 in the school.

It was full of fun-filled activities for children. The workshop started with an introduction about the channel and its programmes. After that, to engage the students, some games were organized like ‘Throw the ball’, ’Make a Square’, ‘ Pyramid’, etc.. Two teams consisting of a pair, each competed in every game. The winning teams got the prizes. In the end, a warm-up session was organized where they showed a clipping of  cartoons doing different exercises, which students also enjoyed  doing the same.

INSPIRE CAMP AT SHIVAJI COLLEGE DELHI UNIVERSITY - 16TH TO 20TH JULY 2018
Participating in the “Inspire camp” at Shivaji College, Delhi University was a beneficial initiative taken for the third time by DST, GOD. It was organized for the top 100% scorers of CBSE & ICSE Board X Examination. Urging a feeling of scientific attitude, the mentors there enjoyed complete liberty expressing their valuable words, implanting in them great fruits of knowledge in verse as well as in text .Moreover, many experienced lecturers benefitted the students by providing a vast sea of information & motivation for chasing different careers in different fields other than Doctors and engineers. Carefully designed lectures, accompanied by brilliant ppt presentations encouraged the need for imparting the scientific key to success in them. This situation got enhanced by the special session by Prof.G.S.Sodhi on forensic chemistry purely based on observation at the very first chance. “If you miss the chance, you miss the case”. Prof. B.Jayaram enlightened them with his great knowledge on DNA technology & how they would be able to get immune to all diseases by 30 years –Prof Sharma taught them how to convert different situations of daily life to mathematical concepts & proved that happiness spreads by dividing (p>D!!!) Dr Subhramanyam gave a mesmerizing lecture on nanotechnology & how matter changes its behaviour in the nano range .Prof. D.Durai described various geological phenomena & also that “Global warming is not worth care”. Practicals enhancing their skills, full of precautions,  wherein they got to know about using oil emission microscopes to knowing our blood group, to spreading up the contents of plant cells, to hemoglobin count, to sterilizing objects at the hospital and the most favourite qualitative analysis for identifying cations along with adulterations (if present) in milk & butter .The students had brilliant experience, good exposure & learning. The meritorious students of Greenway who attended this camp were Abhinav, Kamal, Samarth , Rishi , Vanshika , Sameeksha , Harsh, Ujjwal , Ekta , Aman Panchal,Neha and Kanupriya of Class XI.  On the last day, they were felicitated with certificates by the college Principal, vice Principal & the Coordinator and were given a promise to provide such endeavors in future also. The teacher who accompanied them on all five days was -Ms. Jayshree Shreedharan & this initiative was taken by Sr. Coordinator Ms Yogyata Mathur.

 

ETHERIUM FOUNDATION & BLOCK CHAIN WORKSHOP FOR CLASS 11 AND 12 STUDENTS
A group of 35 students along with the computer teacher, Ms. Heena Devgan went to IIT DELHI on 12 July 2018 to attend a workshop conducted by Etherium Foundation in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission on “Block chain and its two scaling solutions- Casper and Sharding”. The workshop was headed by Karl Floersch and Justin Drake of Etherium Foundation, who gave highly technical insight to the students about the Block chain. Many professionals in this field and students from different states attended the workshop. The teacher and the students of Greenway Modern School had an enriching experience. 

 

PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM ON ACCOUNTANCY - 07.07.2018

Commerce Teacher Foundation (CTF) organized a workshop on 7th July 2018 at Rukmani Devi Public School, Pitam Pura, New Delhi. C.A Dr. G.S. Grewal and Sh. R.K. Khosla renowned authors  were invited as guest speaker to share their knowledge with the members and participants. At Greenways it is always an endeavor of the school to regularly encourage the teachers to attend the workshop and enrich their knowledge.

Dr. G.S. Grewal discussed about recent changes in the CBSE syllabus of Class XI & XII,concept of GST & its impact on society, treatment of Goodwill and changes in cash flow. Whereas Mr.R.K. Khosla showered his knowledge about the preparation of final accounts from incomplete records in an interesting manner. Both the sessions were very interactive and various practical queries were discussed.

At the end,Mr. Dinesh Madan,Founder & General Secretary of CTF,as a token of respect presented memento to Learned G.S. Grewal, R.K. Khosla &Principal of the School. On this occasion our school teacher, Mrs. Neelam Gupta,was invited on the dais to present souvenir to the eminent guest speaker Sh. R.K. Khosla. 
Workshop came to an end with Mr. Dinesh Madan beautiful words “Knowledge of teacher is important but delivery of knowledge is more important”

 

WORKSHOP ON REMODELLED ASSESSMENT AT SECONDARY SCHOOL LEVEL 15.05.2018
We are human and not perfect. We try things, make mistakes, we get hurt. We rise again, we try again .We keep learning and we keep growing. With this motive CBSE workshop was conducted on 16th May 2018 at DAV Shreshtha Vihar. Mrs. Yogyata Mathur PGT Biology participated in this workshop. Latest CBSE circular related to new assessment policy for class IX and X discussed. As CCE pattern of report card was given. Health and physical education is included as compulsory subject under Co-Scholastic area. It has defined curricular with all practical and no theory. Weightage of marks for HPE shall be 100. It includes physical fitness, games,SEWA etc. Assessment will be done throughout the year by PET, Class teacher or Subject teacher. Overall experience of the workshop was fruitful.


WORKSHOP ON CREATIVE WRITING FOR CLASS IX - LUXUR PENS 15.05.2018
A  Creative Writing workshop for Class IX was held by Luxur Pens. 20 Students from each class were selected. They were shown a video on how corruption starts and were told to write on any topic which they felt was an hindrance for the development of country. The main aim of this workshop was to create awareness among the students 


WORKSHOP ON PARENTING TIP - 14.05.2018 
A workshop on parenting was organized on 14Th May in the school premises for classes 1 and 2 conducted by Ms. Renu Gupta where in tips on parenting and bad touch and good touch were given to the parents to enable them to guide their ward with reference to the current scenario of our society. It was an enriching experience for the parents and it proved to be a successful session.
 

NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA WORKSHOP FOR CLASS XII - 26.04.2018
To make the students aware that inner beauty is everything, a show was organized to make them realize that having confidence in oneself is more important than anything else in life. Also they can choose theater as one of the options for their career.
 

CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION FOR CLASS X - 10.04.2018
A counseling session for Class X was held with regard to how to choose the stream and what are the career options. The Speaker was Dr. Anubhuti Sehgal.
