The 12th International Yoga Day(21 June,2026) was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal in the premises of Greenway Modern School. The celebration was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Veer Singh Dhingan, MLA, Seemapuri, along with other distinguished guests including Mr. Gobind Ballabh, District Secretary, Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (Navin Dilshad Garden District), members of the Yog Sansthan, Mr. Sakib (DDE), and the Principal of E-Block, Nand Nagri.
The yoga session was conducted under the guidance of the members of Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, who demonstrated various simple and effective yogasanas and encouraged everyone to adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine. Around 500 participants including students, staff members and other attendees actively joined the session with great enthusiasm. Adding to the pride of the school, the NCC cadets also participated in the International Yoga Day celebration held at the NCC Headquarters, Rohini, where they performed various yoga asanas with dedication and discipline.
Meanwhile, students of the school enthusiastically took part in a wide range of class-wise activities conducted to spread awareness about the importance of yoga. The primary wing showcased creativity through drawing, colouring, slogan writing, posters, poems and collages. Middle and senior wing students prepared informative charts, bookmarks, articles, essays, creative write-ups, presentations and awareness posters based on various themes related to yoga, health and holistic living.
Students also performed the prescribed yoga asanas according to their respective class groups and shared their photographs and videos, reflecting their commitment towards adopting yoga as a way of life.
The celebration concluded with the message that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a journey towards harmony of the body, mind and soul. The event successfully inspired everyone to embrace the ancient Indian tradition of yoga and move towards a healthier and happier future.
