Greenway Modern School conducted a  CBP workshop by CBSE for Middle & Senior Wing teachers on 28th June 2024. The Resource Person from CBSE was Ms. Deepti Sharma who spoke on the significance and need of integrating Art into the Scholastic and Co-Scholastic field for the holistic development of a child. The workshop aimed to explore practical ways art can enhance learning across various disciplines.    Ms. Deepti Sharma extensively discussed the implementation of Art Integration, emphasizing its role in enriching the learning experience and promoting creativity among students. The following points were highlighted:

Techniques and methodologies were shared on how art can be seamlessly integrated into subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and Languages, and  The workshop underscored the positive impact of Art Integration on student engagement, retention of information, and overall academic performance.

Various factors influencing successful Art Integration, including curriculum alignment, teacher training, and resource availability, were discussed  The workshop featured a series of interactive activities designed to demonstrate the practical application of Art Integration. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises and collaborative projects to understand the implementation process better.

Overall, the CBP workshop on Art Integration conducted by Ms. Deepti Sharma was deemed innovative and fruitful by participants. It provided valuable insights into leveraging art as a pedagogical tool across different subjects, encouraging educators to adopt creative approaches. Participants were encouraged to incorporate the learned strategies into their teaching practices and to further explore Art Integration as a means to foster holistic learning experiences for students.

This workshop not only enriched participants' understanding of Art Integration but also inspired them to explore new avenues in educational practices.

Greenway Modern School Hosts Inspiring NSD Workshop Culmination Program

On June 22nd, Greenway Modern School proudly hosted the culmination program of a highly engaging workshop conducted by the National School of Drama (NSD). This event marked the conclusion of an enriching series of sessions aimed at nurturing the artistic talents of students from both Greenway Modern School and various other schools across Delhi.

The program presented an array of captivating skits performed by the participating students. These skits vividly depicted the day-to-day issues and had a great moral understanding for viewers. The young actors showcased their impressive acting skills, leaving the audience deeply moved by their performances.   Adding a unique cultural touch to the event, the students also performed a mesmerizing bird dance. The dance not only entertained but also conveyed a powerful message about the importance of preserving our environment and protecting wildlife.  An instrumental performance followed, featuring a variety of musical pieces that resonated with the theme of nature and freedom. The students demonstrated their musical prowess, playing instruments with precision and passion. The harmonious melodies created an atmosphere of tranquility and reflection, further enhancing the overall impact of the event.   The culmination program concluded with a heartfelt ceremony where all participating students were awarded certificates of appreciation. These certificates recognized their hard work, dedication, and the remarkable skills they had developed during the NSD workshop. The event was a testament to the collaborative efforts of the students and the guidance of their mentors from the National School of Drama.

Parents, teachers, and guests in attendance applauded the students for their exceptional performances and the valuable lessons conveyed through their art. The workshop and its culmination program not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also fostered a sense of community among students from different schools.

'Why Yoga IS Important '   - Going through the word gives me a sense of joy, enthusiasm, and calmness. Yoga has been derived from the Sanskrit word "YUJ" which means unification of the individual soul with the Supreme soul. Yoga not only allows us to get United to the Supreme but also provides us with the platform to enhance our posture, leading us to a healthy and long life. It connects us with our culture. But in real are we performing Yoga? The answer can be both yes or no. But if it is not then why are we not? We should ask ourselves the question of why? We can still start it as we are getting an opportunity in the form of a day which is International Yoga Day on 21st June. In this fast-running life people are getting into depression, they are getting anxiety attacks. Can we do something about it without taking any medications, the answer is yes. It is Yoga which acts as a regulator for our body it regulates our body functions, muscles and bones, and mind; basically, it helps us in wholesome development. So let's pledge on this Yoga day to give something positive to our body that is, the habit of performing Yoga.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on 21st June every year our school organized a series of events and activities to promote the practice and importance of yoga among students.    Activities by Classes: 

Classes 1 & 2: Students practiced Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Sukhasana (Easy Pose). 

Classes 3 & 4:  Engaged in Padmasana (Lotus Pose) and Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose). 

Classes 5 & 6:  Participated in Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Parvatasana (Mountain Pose).
 

Classes 7 & 8:  Demonstrated Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) and Vakrasana (Half Spinal Twist). 

Classes 9 & 10:  Practiced Sukhasana (Easy Pose) and Naukasana (Boat Pose). 

Classes 11 & 12:   Wrote essays on the importance of yoga and performed advanced asanas such as Halasana (Plow Pose) and Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose). 

 Students enthusiastically practiced these yoga asanas both at home and school under the guidance of our dedicated physical education teachers.  Several students also demonstrated their skills by performing these asanas during the celebrations

The Principal of our school commended the efforts put forth by both students and teachers in organizing and participating in the Yoga Day celebrations.  He emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being and encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily lives.  Overall, the Yoga Day celebrations at our school were a great success, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the practice of yoga among students and staff

The Delhi Traffic Police organized a Road Safety Awareness Camp at Bal Bhawan starting June 10th, 2024. Many of our school students participated in this event.
We are delighted to announce that Veerang Singh Dagar (12th C) secured First Position in the Traffic Police Painting & Drill Competition. Ekansh Jindal (6th B) achieved third place in the drill competition. The students gained valuable knowledge on various safety rules, disaster management, firefighting practices, self-defense, and more. They were awarded by the ACP (Traffic) for their achievements.
This is another proud moment for our school.

CELEBRATE NATURE, CELEBRATE LIFE! 

In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5th, our school organized activities under the theme "Restoring the Biosphere" to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. Class 1 enjoyed story time with environmental themes, while Class 2 and 3 took guided nature walks with parents, learning about local flora and fauna. Class 4 created art using old leaves and flowers, documenting species details. Class 5 made eco-friendly art projects from recycled materials. Class 6 planted and cared for saplings, documenting their growth. Class 7 educated house helpers or guards on environmental conservation. Class 8 maintained personal nature journals, and Class 9 made natural cleaning products. Class 10 created documentaries on sustainable living, Class 11 wrote motivational speeches, and Class 12 penned articles on the role of education in environmental awareness. The students' enthusiasm and efforts were commendable, earning appreciation from the Principal.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY is celebrated worldwide on 31st May, as per the notification from DDE Greenwanians celebrated this day by making posters, writing slogans, and articles, and watching videos that show the harmful effects of TOBACCO.   The students realized the importance of good health and pledged on this day. The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students & teachers that even during holidays the students are taking a keen interest in the activities.
