Table Manners Activity – Pre-Primary

Good habits begin at the dining table! Pre-Primary students of Greenway Nursery School participated in an engaging Table Manners Activity aimed at developing proper dining etiquette and healthy eating habits from an early age.

To make the learning meaningful and enjoyable, the teachers demonstrated both good manners and bad manners at the dining table. Through these role-plays, children easily understood the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour while eating. They learned the importance of washing their hands before and after meals, sitting properly at the table, using polite words like “Please,” “Thank You,” and “Excuse Me,” chewing with their mouths closed, eating neatly without wasting food, and keeping the dining area clean. They were also encouraged to share, wait patiently for their turn, and respect others during mealtime.

The interactive demonstration and hands-on learning made the activity enjoyable and memorable. It helped children understand that good table manners reflect respect, responsibility, and consideration for others—valuable life skills that will stay with them as they grow.
