A POCSO Awareness Activity was conducted on 2nd May 2026 for students of Classes I to XII under the guidance of the POCSO Committee. The objective was to sensitize students about personal safety, body awareness, and reporting mechanisms under the POCSO Act, 2012, using age-appropriate methods. For Classes I and II, teachers explained the concept of Good Touch and Bad Touch with the help of body parts. The sessions were kept simple and interactive to help young students identify private body parts and understand the difference between safe and unsafe touch. For Classes III to V, the animated short film KOMAL by Childline India Foundation was screened on the smart boards. Teachers had downloaded the movie in advance and later discussed its key message with students, focusing on recognizing abuse, trusting their instincts in uncomfortable situations, and confiding in a trusted adult. For Classes VI to VIII, students from senior classes explained the sensitivity of POCSO and its Act through peer-led sessions, making the topic more relatable. Till Class XI the awareness sessions continued with discussions tailored to the students' maturity level, covering reporting mechanisms and personal boundaries. For Classes XI and XII, the POCSO Act was explained in depth. The sessions covered key provisions, legal definitions, penalties, child-friendly procedures, and the role of the Special Courts, ensuring senior students understood the legal framework comprehensively.
Throughout the activity, teachers ensured that all students understood the importance of reporting any uncomfortable or unsafe situation immediately to parents, teachers, or POCSO Committee members. The session reinforced that their body belongs to them and that it is never a child's fault in cases of abuse. The activity was overseen by POCSO Committee members Ms. Anuja Jaitley, Ms. Kusum Rattan, Mr. Sanjay Joshi, Ms. Bhawna, and student representatives Kartikey Chandola and Ishika Arora of Class XII A. The program was conducted successfully across Classes I to XII, with active participation at all levels, and effectively reinforced the school's commitment to child safety and legal awareness under the POCSO Act.
