National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was observed in school on 31st October with great patriotic zeal and enthusiasm by Greenwanians. The day marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India”, who played a remarkable role in the integration of our nation.
To begin the day, all students and staff took the National Unity Pledge to preserve the unity, integrity, and security of our country.
As part of the celebration, the Sports Department of the school and DOE (Directorate of Education, Delhi) both organized a Unity Run on this occasion. Students and teachers across Delhi participated in this run to spread the message – “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat.”

Proudly, 15 girl students of Greenway Modern School were selected to present a special dance performance in the Unity Run event. Their cultural performance showcased the spirit of national integration. The dance was also witnessed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs Rekha Gupta, and the Education Minister, Shri Ashish Sood, which was indeed a moment of honour and pride for the school.
Through this celebration, students of Greenway once again proved that unity is the biggest strength of our nation.

The Nursery and Kg students had a wonderful and peaceful experience during their visit to the Gurudwara. The visit was organized to help the children learn about different places of worship and understand the values of love, equality, and service. As soon as the children reached the Gurudwara, they were warmly welcomed by the sewadars (helpers). The students covered their heads before entering the main prayer hall, learning the importance of respect and cleanliness in the holy place. Inside, they listened to the soothing shabad kirtan (holy hymns) that created a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The children also bowed down in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the holy book of the Sikhs. They learned that the Gurudwara is a place open to everyone, regardless of religion, caste, or background. After the prayer session, the little ones were given Kada Prasad and toffees. It was a memorable day full of learning and joy. The visit helped the students understand the importance of kindness, humility, and togetherness — values that the Gurudwara beautifully teaches.
