Greenway Modern School organized a workshop on 15th May,2025 having most important topic “Bullying to buddy” for students of Classes 10 and 11 with the aim of spreading awareness about bullying and promoting a safe and respectful school environment. The session was conducted by experienced psychologist Mr. Vaibhav Saxena who engaged the students through interactive discussions and real-life examples. Mr. Saxena is an Art Based Therapist at the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare, holding a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and UNESCO-CID certification in Expressive Art Therapy.

The workshop began with a definition of bullying as repeated, intentional harm involving a power imbalance. Students were introduced to the different forms of bullying: physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying. The facilitators explained how bullying affects not only the victim but also the entire school community by creating a negative and fearful atmosphere.

Special emphasis was placed on cyberbullying, with discussions on digital behavior, online safety, and responsible social media use. Students were encouraged to be upstanders—those who support victims and report incidents—rather than silent bystanders.

The workshop also included a thought and experience share session for the students. Strategies to handle bullying, such as assertive communication, seeking help, and offering peer support, were shared.

At the end of the session, students took a pledge to stand against bullying and promote empathy and inclusion. The school announced initiatives like a Peer Support Program and a suggestion box for reporting concerns. The session empowered students to take action and contribute to a culture of kindness and respect within the school.

PRIMARY WING INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY

The Primary Wing of Greenway Modern School conducted a vibrant and culturally enriching assembly on the occasion of International Dance Day, celebrated annually to highlight the importance of dance in expressing emotions, preserving culture, and promoting unity through rhythm and movement. The event, held in the school ground, was a colourful blend of tradition, diversity, and youthful enthusiasm.

The assembly commenced with a warm welcome extended by the student anchors, followed by a brief yet informative presentation about the origin and purpose of International Dance Day.

The highlight of the assembly was a series of impressive dance performances presented by the students of various classes. The first performance was a beautifully choreographed Bharatnatyam dance. With intricate footwork, expressive gestures, and traditional music, the young dancers transported the audience to the rich cultural heritage of India. Their grace, coordination, and understanding of the classical art form were truly commendable and received much appreciation.

Following this, the assembly took a global turn as students showcased dances from different parts of the world. A captivating Japanese fan dance was performed with precision and elegance, highlighting the serenity and aesthetics of Japanese culture. The colourful fans and synchronized movements created a mesmerizing visual treat. Next was an energetic African tribal dance that brought the rhythms of the continent to life. With lively beats, dynamic movements, and vibrant costumes, the students reflected the spirit of joy and community that characterizes African dance traditions. Moving further we witnessed the combination of Brazilian Dance with Chinese fusion by 1st and 2nd grade students, that brought much more enthusiasm to already lively assembly.

After the cultural segment, the assembly moved on to an equally important and proud moment — the distribution of certificates to the winners of the recently held Handwriting Competition. The competition had seen enthusiastic participation from students across all grades, and the winners were recognized for their exceptional neatness, letter formation, and overall presentation.

The assembly concluded on a high note with an appreciation address by the Primary Wing Incharge, Mrs. Reinu Gupta and Activity Incharge Mrs.Jaishree Shreedharan. They both expressed her heartfelt congratulations to all the participants and appreciated the hard work put in by the teachers and students alike. They emphasized the role of such events in nurturing talent, promoting cultural understanding, and building confidence in young learners. Their words were both encouraging and motivating, leaving a lasting impact on the students.

The Primary School Assembly was a perfect blend of learning, talent, and celebration. It successfully instilled in the students a sense of pride in their culture and an appreciation for the diversity that makes our world so unique. It was truly a memorable experience for all who attended.

In the month of April ,
Greenway Modern School took a creative and impactful approach to spread awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by organizing a Nukkad Natak (street play) performance. The program, which spanned across the primary, middle, and senior wings, aimed to educate students about autism in an engaging and culturally relevant manner.

The Nukkad Natak, was chosen for its ability to capture the audience's attention and convey social messages effectively. The play was carefully crafted to:
                                        1. Explain Autism
                                        2. Promote Inclusion
                                          3. Showcase Challenges and strengths

A highlight of the program was a speech by a student who shared her views and understanding of autism. The student's speech added a powerful and relatable dimension to the program, emphasizing the importance of empathy and friendship. The student discussed how small acts of kindness and understanding can make a significant difference in the lives of individuals with autism.
The school plans to continue such initiatives to build a more inclusive and supportive learning community.
